On January 24, 2024, the groundbreaking conference on “Vision Zero Fatalities in Road Accidents Using Next-Generation Technologies” took place, chaired by Honourable Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari. One of the key speakers, Akhilesh Srivastava, presented a forward-thinking strategy to tackle road accidents using AI, IoT, and edge computing technologies.
Mr. Srivastava underscored the need for immediate action, highlighting that technological solutions like real-time traffic alerts, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication, and predictive analytics can significantly reduce human error, which is responsible for the majority of accidents. His vision called for the rapid adoption of these technologies in road safety programs across India, pushing for zero road fatalities by leveraging intelligent, data-driven solutions.
